The interior decorating design process is focused more on the aesthetics and finishing touches. It involves selecting and arranging furniture, decor, colors, and accessories to create a cohesive, visually pleasing space. Here’s a breakdown of the process of interior decorating begins with an initial consultation where the decorator meets with the client to understand their tastes, preferences, and functional requirements. This includes assessing the space, considering layout, existing furnishings, and constraints. Following this, the decorator creates a design concept, often represented through a mood or concept board, showcasing color samples, fabric swatches, and furniture styles. The decorator then defines the style direction of the space, such as modern, traditional, eclectic, etc. based on the client's input and the space's characteristics.
Once the concept is established, the decorator moves on to space planning, focusing on arranging furniture for both aesthetics and functionality while maintaining proper scale and proportion. They also select the color scheme, materials, and fabrics that will bring the desired atmosphere to the space. The decorator sources furniture, decor, and accessories that align with the design concept before proceeding with installation and styling. about Isheal Martinez
A San Francisco native, Isheal Martinez is a passionate interior designer whose creative aesthetic is profoundly shaped by the unique energy of this iconic city. The dynamic blend of modern architecture and eclectic, colorful culture of San Francisco is a core influence on her decorating design philosophy.
Having lived bi-coastally, Isheal is inspired by the airy, bohemian vibe of California, with its effortless elegance and organic charm, while the East Coast’s classic, timeless, and preppy style offers a more refined, traditional influence. It is this fusion of styles—balanced between the breezy Californian spirit and the enduring sophistication of the East Coast—that defines her design approach. Isheal’s travels further expanded her appreciation for different landscapes, blending these inspirations into a truly original design style that celebrates both modernity and tradition.
Before pursuing interior design professionally, Isheal worked in mortgage lending in New York and Real Estate in the Bay Area. However, it was her side passion for home decor and staging that began to reveal her true calling. She discovered the therapeutic, joyful nature of transforming spaces, igniting a spark that resonated with both her clients and herself.
In 2017, Isheal relocated to a charming Southern town in North Carolina, where she found a peaceful, nature-filled environment perfect for raising her children. Here, she began incorporating elements of Southern charm into her designs, blending effortlessly elegant, comfortable, and modern styles with a warm, inviting atmosphere.
Her passion and drive led her to launch ArtéDecor by Isheal in 2020, turning her dream into a thriving business that merges creativity with practical design. Now based in Northern Virginia, Isheal is inspired by the picturesque landscapes, rich history, and diverse community of the region. She is excited to continue bringing her unique vision to life, eagerly embracing new opportunities to create, renovate, and transform spaces.
